Status: Full-time position

Salary: $80k-$95k annually, commensurate with experience; plus equity; health, dental, and vision insurance; flexible PTO plan and company holidays

About you:

You are a seasoned and well-connected political advisor with a deep network of progressive political contacts. You are a political campaign or advocacy campaign veteran who has worked at the local, state and national levels across the country. You are deeply familiar with how campaigns, parties and consultants use data in a campaign setting. You are active in WDC political circles and come to us with strong existing relationships and an impeccable reputation. You are a team player driven by your commitment to social change. You bring a superb track record in client and relationship management, project management, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will liaise seamlessly with the Bay Area sales team and create communications best practices between coasts. You are curious about the world, always follow through, are bursting with new ideas and always go the extra mile for your team. You are upbeat, energetic, and remain cool, calm and collected under pressure. 


As Change Research’s Washington, D.C-based Strategic Accounts Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer relationship management that ensures customer success and satisfaction mostly for inside-the-beltway business and national DC-based firms and potentially northeast / east coast regional Change Agents and their referral business. This may include troubleshooting campaigns, or researching crisis or urgent communications. (40%)

  • Sales and support of sales of our current and future products, including 2020 Change and Leading with Change. This includes ensuring Change Research has an opportunity to submit for public RFP’s issued by Democratic state parties and helping draft and submit the RFPs by working in concert with the data and polling team. (30%)

  • Support Change Research marketing, business development and outreach efforts creating a plan of target WDC events and building a plan of attendance based on target audiences; attend key events for relationship building. (20%)

  • Manage administrative work related to all accounts, contacts and deals using our CRM (10%)


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of political campaign or advocacy campaign experience

  • Stellar reputation

  • Deep network of political connections, particularly in Washington, D.C.

  • Data savvy and comfortable talking polling data to decision makers

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills - ability to collaborate thoughtfully with peers

  • Account management skills: ability to lead meetings online and in person; and

  • present complicated ideas in a simple way

  • Experience building and leading successful teams and projects

  • Exceptional sales skills - make a presentation and move meeting toward a deal

  • Organized and comfortable with technology (ability to use new tech tools to organize)

  • Crisis management: ability to triage breaking campaign or political crisis

  • Strong writing skills: ability to quickly draft and turn out proposals

  • Exceptional persuasive communications skills (writing, phone and in-person)

  • Avidly interested in current events, public affairs and social issues

  • Critical thinker

  • Calm, cool, and collected in the face of deadlines
